The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is a non-profit, all-volunteer program. Our mission is to provide soccer opportunities to as many young athletes as possible in a fun, fair, and safe environment.
Our policy is that parents and guardians should fund their children’s registration fees to the extent that they are able. To help ensure that every child has the opportunity to play, AYSO Region 894 has established a scholarship fund to assist families with registration costs. Scholarships are available for the Spring and Fall Core Programs. Scholarships do not apply to the Extra Program.
The Region 894 Board reviews and decides on all scholarship applications and will notify applicants of the scholarship amount awarded (full or partial). Applications are processed as they are received, and additional scholarships may be approved if more funds become available.
Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need to families who are unable to pay all or part of the registration fees. Because funds are limited, priority will be given to applicants showing the greatest financial need while funds remain available.
Please note: Scholarships do not cover the National Player Fee (NPF) or transaction/credit card fees.
Application Deadline and Criteria
Scholarship applications must be submitted during the open registration period.
Parents/guardians must complete the online Player Scholarship Application Form. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential.
First consideration will be given to families able to provide documentation supporting financial need—such as, but not limited to, SNAP, WIC, Social Security Disability, Medicaid, TANF, and Head Start or that the child is a participant of a free/reduced school lunch. The Regional Commissioner, Treasurer, or CVPA may request to view verification documents but will not require copies.
Players who have previously received scholarship funds are welcome to apply again.
