AYSO Region 894 serves the communities of Monrovia, Harvest, and Toney, Alabama, offering spring and fall youth soccer programs for kids from elementary through high school. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, devoted to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive soccer experience for every child—no tryouts, and no cuts.
Our Mission & Philosophy
We work under the banner of the national AYSO mission: to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs in a fun, family environment founded on the Six Core Philosophies:
-
Open Registration – All children who want to play are welcome; experience or ability is not required.
-
Everyone Plays – Every player is guaranteed time on the field; we believe playing is essential for growth.
-
Balanced Teams – Teams are formed to be fair and evenly matched to ensure both competitive and positive experiences.
-
Positive Coaching – Our coaches are teachers at heart. We support and encourage players, focusing on personal growth as much as winning.
-
Good Sportsmanship – Respect, fairness, and integrity are central in every game. It’s not just about how you score — it’s how you play.
-
Player Development – We are committed to helping each child improve their skills—physical, mental, and social—through consistent, quality instruction.
AYSO Region 894 is child-first and child-focused. Our decisions, rules, and programs are all designed with: What is best for the kids. We strive to foster an environment where every first-time player feels welcome, every returning player is inspired, and every family is part of our community.
What We Offer
-
Spring & Fall Seasons for multiple age levels (elementary through high school).
-
A structure that ensures equal playing time (no bench warmers) under Everyone Plays. Many AYSO regions mandate each player appears in at least half (or more) of each game.
-
Balanced teams each season so kids can improve and enjoy fair competition.
-
Coaches and volunteers trained toward positive reinforcement and ethical engagement, not just winning.
Our Community & Values
-
We believe every child should feel included. Our open registration policy ensures all who want to play can play.
-
We are powered by volunteers — coaches, referees, administrative leaders — who give their time because they believe in youth development, teamwork, and fun.
-
We aim to maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment—for players, parents, coaches, officials, and fans alike.
Membership Year
Our Membership Year runs from August 1 through July 31. Each year, as registration opens, we welcome returning families and new players alike to join us for another season filled with growth, fun, and community.
